To start LockDown Browser, locate the “LockDown Browser” icon on the desktop and double-click it. (Mac users can find it in their Applications folder.) Alternatively, Windows users can go to “Start', locate 'All Programs,” select “Respondus,” and click “Respondus LockDown Browser.”. Some learning systems require that students.
Your instructor may notify you that you must use Respondus Lockdown Browser to take your quiz or exam. Please refer to the Lockdown Browser – Getting Started for Students. The method to access your quiz or exam will depend on which version of Canvas Quizzes your instructor is using. Visually, you cannot determine which quizzing engine your instructor is using until you click into the quiz. You will not need to install Respondus Lockdown Browser more than once, but your will either access the application from your normal browser or through your applications menu.
Within your selected course, click on 'LockDown Browser' on the left hand navigation. If this is your first time to access Respondus LockDown Browser, Canvas will present a message from Respondus requesting access.Click 'Authorize' to continue. On the next page, you will see the 'About LockDown Browser' page. A student should follow these steps to take an exam with the iPad Edition of LockDown Browser. Download and install the 'LockDown Browser' app from the Apple App Store to the iPad. (Requires iOS 11 or higher.) 2. Follow the instructions for your institution's learning system below. Respondus Lockdown Browser + Monitor. Lockdown Browser is a custom browser that locks down the testing environment in Canvas. Monitor is an additional feature that may be used in conjunction with Lockdown Browser. Monitor requires students use a webcam to record their testing session.
